Compressors International sets new standarts for the metallurgy
For the presentation of the Compressors International solution a seminar-presentation "Innovations of Samsung compressor technology" was organized. The partners of companies from all over Ukraine were invited to the seminar. A representative from Samsung was Mr. Kwon Tai Suk.
The seminar-presentation, organized by Compressors International, presented solutions in the field of compressed air, modern compressor equipment, the basic principles of its operation and maintenance. The company's partners were able to confirm for themselves the reliability and effectiveness of the equipment directly at MK Azovstal.
Three centrifugal compressors of the Samsung SA2000 series with a capacity of 267 kW, discharge pressure - 7 bar, were supplied to Azovstal MK. Also included were three adsorption dryers Donaldson Ultradryer HRG 3500.
The project implementation included such stages as technical specifications, design, equipment supply, installation supervision and commissioning, including HMI system commissioning, as well as commissioning.
The main components for the production of compressed air were used Samsung Techwin compressors model SA2000. The uniqueness of this solution lies in the fact that centrifugal compressors are designed for harsh operating conditions. The use of air-cooled compressors is today a unique solution. On the SA2000 model, a soft start system was applied, which helps to increase the resource and allows the compressor to be started and stopped without affecting its overall resource.
At MK Azovstal, a compressed air preparation system was applied, which makes it possible to prepare air of the highest quality. This was done with hot regeneration dryers. The peculiarity of these dryers is that they are the most energy-efficient equipment that ensures no loss of compressed air; compared to old equipment, air loss was 30%.
The equipment complex at MK Azovstal can ensure the reliability of compressed air supply to the blast furnace assemblies, which makes it possible to operate the main equipment without interruption. In the case of a single node shutdown, there is a backup, which is commissioned automatically, which allows for uninterrupted supply of compressed air to the blast furnace.
Compressor station, supplied by Compressor International, has a 100% automatic process control, and allows you to automatically start a backup compressor without the involvement of operating personnel. This automatic control system was developed, designed, and tested by Samsung Techwin. All communications and controls occur without human intervention in automatic mode.
To ensure energy efficiency, the equipment is equipped with soft-start systems for electric motors, which in turn reduces power consumption. Reduced maintenance costs were achieved due to the lack of cooling supply. Economical operation of the system was achieved due to low energy loss.
Samsung centrifugal compressors are equipped with a large color touch screen that displays all compressor performance data.
The compressor has a new conceptual automatic control system that provides monitoring and direct control of the system parameters. The system also automatically measures the temperature and discharge pressure, the level of vibration, and receives the data it needs to work. In case of problems that can lead to system overload, it notifies about it, and takes measures to eliminate them.
The advantages of this equipment in high rates of performance and environmental factors. The compressors are easy to maintain, and are equipped with a modern compressor control system with the ability to remotely monitor and operate.
As a result - uninterrupted operation of the compressor station 24/7.
Such stations will soon be applied at all the steel plants. Compressors supplied by Compressors International are perfectly compatible with other equipment, and are easily connected to an existing control system. This ability to work with other equipment is provided by a web-based management system.
The use of a protection system against short-term power outages improves the stability of the system, thereby reducing the risk of shutting down the compressor during such interruptions.
